High Hopes for February!

So, here goes. I've been lax about posting because I have not lost a pound in 2 weeks! My diet is not the best, but I have been keeping up with my exercise. I'm going to get my diet in check starting February 1st . Yes, I know it's Super Bowl Sunday......ribs, pizza, nachos...yum.....it's already in my house ready to go. Game plan: start the day light and watch what I eat during the game. Everything in moderation, right? Did I ever mention my husband can eat that stuff and he is SKINNY? He knows when to stop though. I'm missing that OFF button for some reason....

I've decided that I will run a 5K this summer. My 10 year old talked me into it. There is NO WAY I'm going to get out there and start training now in the snow. I have a couple neighbors who run religously - temperature and weather aside. I admire them for it, but you won't catch me out there. Guess I'll just keep working on increasing my endurance on the elliptical until it gets warmer. Any other 5k training suggestions?

1 more down....74 to go!

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but I did weigh in yesterday morning. Down to 204 - a 1 pound loss. Not too good for the beginning of a diet, that's for sure! Any suggestions?

Week one results- 1.5 pounds lighter!

I lost 1.5 pounds in my first week.  I weighed in at 205 this morning.  Not as good as I hoped, but at least it's a loss!  If I maintain the same amount lost each week, I will reach my goal.  This week I am going to watch what I'm eating, which I did not do last week.  I am not really an overeater most of the time, but I can certainly make better choices.  I feel that most of my gain has come from lack of activity.  I work on my bum all day at home!  So, I do not even have to walk across the parking lot to get into work.  I just walk downstairs.  The added exercise is definitely a big help.

And it starts....

Happy New Year!

Today is the beginning of my year long weight loss journey. My measuring tape is MIA, so those will be up tomorrow after I make a trip to the store. However, my starting weight is 206.5. I want to weigh 130 by the end of the year. That is a weight loss of 76.5 pounds.

I've decided on an exercise plan for January, and I will tweak it for the following month if needed. As much as I love Curves, it has been difficult for me to get there to work out since they don't offer a child care service. I have decided to use what I already have to get started and discontinue Curves.

Here's a short inventory on what I have at home (aka good intentions that didn't work out):
Videos: Jillian Michael's 30-day Shred, Super Stomachs, Tae-Bo, 8 Minute Abs, Firmer Fannies
Equipment: Elliptical machine, Cardio Glide, weight bench with various free weights
Other: Nike+ sport kit, armband, and Nike+ sneakers

This is my January workout schedule:
Sunday: Off day (sort of). I will do 90-120 minutes of fast house cleaning. Sounds silly, but it can be a workout. I have a huge home - 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Monday: 8 Min. Abs, 30-day Shred
Tuesday: Super Stomachs, 30 minutes Elliptical
Wednesday: 8 Min. Abs, 30-day Shred
Thursday: Super Stomachs, 30 minutes Elliptical
Friday: 8 Min. Abs, 30-day Shred
Saturday: Super Stomachs, 30 minutes Elliptical or Jogging
This is the minimum I will do. When I tweak it for February, I will add more to the required workout.
