April Fools Day

I can't believe it's April already. Seriously! Where has the first quarter of the year gone? We got about a foot of snow today - not funny Mother Nature. Time to get down to business with this weight loss. I sing this tune all the time, and start anew all the time. It's getting old. Yet, here I go again!

We're taking Easter week off and heading down to the Jersey shore for some R&R with the kids. I wanted to be well on my way to my goal weight by then. Instead, I remain fluffy. So, my new mini goal (yes, it's aggressive) is to lose at least 15 pounds in three weeks.

How will I do that? Lots of exercise and a healthy diet. I can't crash diet because I'm currently breastfeeding my 7 month old. So, exercise it is. I'm going to post here every day until then with my progress and what I did that day. Let's see if this works out for me....

I'm back!

Wow! Two years have passed, and I'm finally back. Ready to lose again. It's crazy how life gets away from you and how much dedication it actually takes to get back in shape. A lot has happened in the past two years. Yes, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which is a big part of the reason that I was having such a hard time losing. I take 150 mcg levothyroxine now and actually have a little energy.

Good news! I've had a baby since I last posted. He's now a healthy 5 month old and keeps me busy. Not that I wasn't busy before. Ha! We have a house full now (done having babies!) ranging from 5 months to 13 years. There are five kids in all.

I'm no longer pursuing my Nursing degree. The hospital sponsoring me could not afford to continue the program, so I had to take a year off. Then, I got pregnant. Surprise! I've found that I'm quite satisfied working from home. It does have its financial challenges, especially when you are not focused. This year, I'm working on getting focused and staying focused - in more ways than one. I hope my weight is one area that I can focus on.
